Planning has resumed for the Twin Rivers Quilters Guild’s biennial quilt show.  We are excited to
return to the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center for our 2019 Bee by The River “Season’s
for Quilts” Quilt Show October 25 and 26, 2019.  We challenge all guild members, fellow quilters
and community members to fill the convention center with their amazing quilted treasures
highlighting the talent here in Eastern North Carolina.  Let your artistry , your compassion, your
struggle, your growth and your beauty shine as we come together as a community to host a
beautiful quilt show and celebrate the resilience of our community.

QUILT SHOW SPEAKERS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

On Friday, Lynn Gorges, Textile Conservator and Restoration Specialist, will discuss Sanitary
Commission Quilts.  These quilts were made in the North for wounded soldiers hospitalized right in
New Bern.  Lynn will share this history at 10 am and again at 2 pm.

On Saturday, Pepper Cory, will discuss the “The Art of Real Scrap Quilting” at 10:00 am.  What
defines a scrap quilt today? Are there any boundaries when making a scrapquilt?  Then at 2:00 pm
Pepper will discuss "On the Trail/Drunkard's Path".  The classic Drunkard's Path quilt pattern has
an interesting history; it comes to us from England and before that, ancient Rome!  All lectures
take place in the Berne rooms upstairs.

Come out to view over 300 quilts, multiple vendors, exhibits, the famous Twice Around Treasures
booth which has moved upstairs for the added space, the exclusive GuildBoutique and even take a
quilt home at the Quilts for Sale booth.

The guild’s gorgeous 2020 Raffle Quilt will be revealed during this show!!
